Liu Guozhong, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, conducted a fact-finding visit to Jiangsu from the 22nd to the 23rd. He emphasised the need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, carry out the arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, adhere to the strategic orientation of the "Four Orientations", strengthen innovation-led development and policy coordination, build the biopharmaceutical sector into an emerging pillar industry, foster the development of the future industry of brain-computer interfaces, accelerate the achievement of high-level self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology, continuously generate new-quality productive forces, and provide strong support for the construction of a healthy China.

Liu Guozhong visited the Brain-Computer Interface Research Institute at Nanjing University to conduct an on-site inspection of scientific research and clinical translation efforts. He emphasised that brain-computer interfaces represent a major cutting-edge technology on the international stage and a strategic high ground in industrial competition. Efforts must be made to deepen interdisciplinary integration, strengthen basic research in brain science, accelerate the development of key core technologies, and enhance capacity for original innovation. We must actively research, develop and promote high-performance, safe and reliable brain-computer interface products; expand application scenarios such as the diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders, motor rehabilitation and health monitoring; and foster a favourable environment for development. We must improve the standards system and regulatory mechanisms to promote the healthy and orderly development of the brain-computer interface industry.
