As the summer heat fades and autumn rains bring refreshment, on September 1, the new 2026 graduate students of Nanjing University arrived from all corners of the country to embark on their new academic journey across the university's four campuses in Xianlin, Gulou, Pukou, and Suzhou.

At the welcome reception main station at the south gate of the Xianlin Campus, shuttle buses traveled back and forth, running orderly along pre-planned routes to ensure every new student arrived home safely.

At the entrances of various schools, new students held banners of various designs and took photos in front of the welcome boards to capture the starting point of their new journey.

One-stop registration counters were set up in the lobbies and other areas of school buildings, where new students lined up in an orderly manner to complete the registration procedures systematically.

The lively and colorful welcome activities highlighted disciplinary features. Postgraduate students at the School of Geography and Ocean Science wrote their names and aspirations on heart-shaped wooden plaques and solemnly placed them in the three-dimensional globe sign-in frame. Robots wearing the 2026 commemorative freshman T-shirts at the School of Electronic Science and Engineering welcomed the students with agile dance moves. The engaging Q&A session at the School of Philosophy was packed with professional "nuggets of wisdom", and many new students eagerly participated. The School of Intelligence Science and Technology featured an exhibition area of research achievements, guiding new students to appreciate the power of technological innovation. The School of Arts carefully crafted cultural products based on the artistic works of its faculty. These were distributed as gifts to the new students while explaining the significance behind the artwork, immersing them in the deep heritage of the school.

Staff and volunteers thoughtfully provided cooling drinks such as yogurt, sour plum soup, and warm water, along with welcome materials for new students and their parents, patiently answering their questions and guiding them in the right direction. Freshly harvested lotus roots from Lizhao Lake were a hit with newcomers and their families, allowing them to savor the unique flavors of NJU while sharing the joy of the harvest and their hopes for the future.

Blackboard announcements in the student dormitories were replaced with welcome-themed designs. Under the attentive guidance and assistance of dormitory staff, new students began moving into their new homes. While registering information and collecting access cards, many inquired about details like study rooms, laundry facilities, and fitness centers. They unpacked their belongings and decorated their once-empty dormitories into welcoming spaces, filled with anticipation for the new chapter in their lives.

During the welcoming period, entrusted by Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS, Vice Presidents Suo Wenbin, Gao Fang, and Jiang Tian visited the graduate students and their parents, as well as extended gratitude to the hardworking staff and volunteers across the campuses in Xianlin, Pukou, and Suzhou.
At the Xianlin Campus, Suo Wenbin visited the welcome reception main station, the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, and the School Philosophy, as well as students' dormitories in buildings 12 and 26. He expressed sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff and volunteers, warmly conversed with students and their parents, and wished the newcomers a successful and enjoyable time at NJU.

Gao Fang conducted onsite visits to the library, cafeteria, and student dormitories at the Pukou Campus, learning in detail about the support systems in place for the new students' academic and daily lives. She encouraged staff to provide even more thoughtful and meticulous services, ensuring the newcomers quickly acclimate to the campus and integrate themselves into NJU's vibrant community, embarking on an enriching graduate experience.

At the Suzhou Campus, Jiang Tian visited the registration area and student dormitories, engaging warmly with new students and volunteers. He thoughtfully inquired about the students' impressions of their enrollment, their academic plans, and research aspirations, encouraging them to integrate quickly into the new environment, immerse themselves in academic pursuits, and boldly explore unknowns.

May the new postgraduate students anchor themselves at this venerable university with a sincere and humble heart, set their lofty aspirations on the vast cosmos, delve deep into their academic studies, and bravely explore new realms. Together, they will pen a dazzling new chapter of their youth.
