Tan Tieniu meets with Li Feng and delegation of China Mobile Jiangsu Co., Ltd.

On the 28th, Li Feng, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of China Mobile Communications Group Jiangsu Co., Ltd., visited Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Li Feng and his delegation at the Xianlin Campus.

Tan Tieniu welcomed Li Feng and his delegation and expressed gratitude for China Mobile's long-standing support for NJU. Tan Tieniu noted that in 2023, the two sides jointly established the NJU–China Mobile Joint Research Institute, maintaining a strong focus on meeting the country's major strategic needs, addressing the development requirements of China Mobile, and leveraging NJU's advantages in academic disciplines. This collaboration has yielded a series of important achievements in industry-academia-research integration, setting a positive example. He emphasized that the partnership between the two entities is built on a solid foundation and offers broad prospects for further development. Tan expressed hope that in the future, the two sides will continue to capitalize on NJU's disciplinary strengths and China Mobile's technological and innovation resources to deepen collaboration in areas such as staff training, talent cultivation, resource sharing, and technology transfer. This collaboration aims to promote the deeper integration of strategic technological applications and innovation in technology industries, contributing significantly to achieving self-reliance in science and technology and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Li Feng provided an overview of China Mobile's digital and intelligent development strategy and the application of artificial intelligence technologies. Li noted that NJU is an important strategic partner for China Mobile. In the 2024 and 2025 Group-level comprehensive assessments of university-industry joint research institutes, the NJU-China Mobile Joint Research Institute was the only such institute to be awarded an 'A' rating for two consecutive years. Looking ahead, he emphasized the vast potential for collaboration in areas such as talent cultivation, technology application, and integration of industry and education. China Mobile plans to further enhance the depth and breadth of its collaboration with NJU, strengthen campus services and support, and deepen ties between academia and enterprise. With practical measures, the two sides aim to jointly promote high-quality development.

The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as technological innovation at NJU, industry-academia-research collaboration, and the joint establishment of laboratories.
