On July 30, the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing University Committee held a meeting to convey and study the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding overseas Chinese affairs. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. President Tan Zheming attended the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions have indicated the direction for advancing overseas Chinese work in the new era and new journey and provided significant guidance. Efforts must be made to thoroughly study and implement these important thoughts on fulfilling the Party's united front work in the new era, as well as his significant discourses on mass work and overseas Chinese affairs. NJU's advantages should be fully leveraged to ensure sound implementation. The meeting emphasized the need to uphold the correct political direction, further unite the hearts, wisdom, and strength of overseas Chinese, and ensure that the university's overseas Chinese affairs and federation work always advance along the right political path. It is necessary to focus on the center of development, collaborate further in serving the university's high-quality development, and actively guide the extensive overseas Chinese community to play a greater role in supporting core endeavors and serving overarching goals. Efforts must be made to strengthen organizational fundamentals, build and enhance the overseas Chinese federation, provide robust support and create favorable conditions for their work, thereby driving NJU's overseas Chinese federation efforts to a new level.
