On July 29, the Admission Launch Ceremony of the China-Belarus College for Excellent Engineers was held at the Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University. This institute is a collaborative effort established by Nanjing University, Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), Sinomach Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and the Qixia High-tech Zone. During the event, a cooperation signing ceremony was also held regarding joint training and the establishment of practice training bases. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); and Kharitonchik Sergey Vasilievich, Rector of BNTU, attended the ceremony.

Tan Tieniu welcomed the guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their concern and support for the China-Belarus College for Excellent Engineers. He introduced NJU's history, academic development, and international cooperation. Tan pointed out that the deepening of the All-weather Strategic Partnership between China and Belarus has paved the way for innovative practices in educational and technological cooperation through the establishment of the College. As artificial intelligence witnesses a new wave of development, reshaping the global structure and changing lifestyles, it holds tremendous potential for development in both China and Belarus. The College focuses on key areas such as artificial intelligence, striving to explore a new internationalized model that integrates education and industry for the cultivation of excellent engineers, which holds significant strategic value. Tan expressed hope that NJU and BNTU will continue their pragmatic cooperation in talent cultivation and technological innovation, jointly building the College into a vital platform for educational and technological cooperation between the two nations, a crucial base for training excellent engineers, and a model brand for educational cooperation under the "Belt and Road Initiative." He emphasized the goal of fostering a sustained and vibrant future for educational cooperation between China and Belarus.

Kharitonchik Sergey Vasilievich noted that the relationship between Belarus and China has been developing rapidly and has reached a high level of All-weather Strategic Partnership, with education and technological cooperation being key areas. Despite being located on opposite sides of the continent, BNTU and NJU have quickly established a strong friendship and cooperative relationship. The official launch of the College marks an important milestone in educational and technological cooperation between the two countries. He detailed the plans and visions of the College concerning joint training, platform building, curriculum development, research collaboration, and school-enterprise integration. He emphasized that the institute provides a platform for training future excellent engineers, opening pathways to new knowledge, technologies, and opportunities. With collective efforts, this will undoubtedly elevate the educational and technological cooperation between the two nations to new heights.

Yang Shubing, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Education Department, pointed out that the official commencement of admissions for the College is an important result of the concerted and pragmatic efforts between NJU and BNTU. This marks the beginning of a substantive and all-encompassing new phase for the joint training of engineering talent between the two universities. He expressed hope that both parties will adhere to principles of openness and inclusiveness, deepen their friendly cooperation, enhance the quality of education and innovate talent cultivation models, align with broader strategic goals, and empower industrial development. Together, they aim to transform the institute into a model platform for China-Belarus educational exchange, a bridge of friendship, and a high ground for cooperation. He also expressed hopes for producing replicable and transferable transnational education paradigms to cultivate high-quality, excellent engineers, providing strong talent support for high-quality development under the "Belt and Road Initiative."

Wang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Xianlin University Town, introduced the basic conditions of Qixia High-tech Zone. He noted that the development of the College has entered a stage of full implementation. This will surely cultivate more excellent engineers with international vision, innovative ability, and strong practical engineering skills for both countries. He added that Qixia High-tech Zone, starting from this new phase, will uphold the principles of open cooperation and mutual benefit, continuously improve the service system for international cooperation, and fully support the high-quality construction of the institute, joining hands with all parties to establish a globally influential engineering education cooperation brand. He emphasized contributing more wisdom and strength to high-quality "Belt and Road" development and friendly China-Belarus cooperation.

Wang Yuhang, Chairman of Sinomach Digital Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the collaboration reflects a strong foundation for joint school-enterprise education. He emphasized commitments to collaboratively designing joint school-enterprise courses, integrating cutting-edge theories and industrial case scenarios of artificial intelligence into daily teaching; perfecting the practical educational mechanisms by establishing and optimizing a dual-mentor guidance system; and together building practice training bases to promote a deep fusion between real scenarios of artificial intelligence technology and industries.

Zhou Zhihua, Vice President of NJU and Academician of the CAS; and Kharitonchik Sergey Vasilievich signed the "China-Belarus College for Excellent Engineers Joint Training Program." Zhou Zhihua, Kharitonchik Sergey Vasilievich, and Wang Yuhang signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Joint Construction of Practice Training Bases at the China-Belarus College for Excellent Engineers."


The ceremony was hosted by Zhou Zhihua. Relevant leaders and heads of departments and colleges from NJU and BNTU, as well as representatives of Sinomach Digital Technology Co., Ltd., attended the event.
