On July 21, the seminar on the Special Action Plan for the New Era Fostering Virtue through Education Project was held at Nanjing University's Xianlin Campus. The seminar was chaired by Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who also delivered a speech.

Tan Tieniu proposed four requirements for NJU's Special Action Plan for the New Era Fostering Virtue through Education Project. First, deeply and systematically study General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important discussions on moral education and talent cultivation, further raise awareness, and earnestly implement the major requirements on moral education and talent cultivation put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee. Second, conduct a thorough analysis of the new situations, new tasks, and new requirements facing moral education and talent cultivation, with a focus on identifying and analyzing problems in the process and outcome of moral education and pinpointing their root causes. Address these in alignment with new circumstances, new requirements, and the major expectations of the Party Central Committee regarding moral education, applying an integrated and in-depth analysis. Third, adhere to a problem-oriented and goal-oriented approach, systematically plan practical and effective action plans, and ensure that various measures for moral education and talent cultivation yield tangible results. Fourth, ensure proper linking and coordination, integrating the special action plan with NJU's 15th Five-Year plan and the implementation plan for "Forging Ahead Initiative" 2.0. Improvements should be made based on feedback from teachers and students to highlight the distinctive features of moral education. Tan emphasized the importance of collective efforts and brainstorming to optimize and enhance the existing plan, clarify specific tasks and measures, and ensure the effective implementation of all work.

The meeting included reports on the drafting process of NJU's Special Action Plan for the New Era Fostering Virtue through Education Project, as well as on the content related to moral education and talent cultivation in the university's 15th Five-Year Plan and the "Forging Ahead Initiative" 2.0 implementation plan. Attendees engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as the reform of ideological and political courses, the "Three Classrooms," the integration of the five aspects of education, undergraduate education, postgraduate training, the development of an education workforce, and the cultivation of international talents.

University leaders Chen Yunsong, Lu Xiancai, Zhou Zhihua, and Wen Yu, along with heads of relevant departments and colleges, attended the meeting.
