On June 18, Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences met with Zhang Jiang, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Huaxin Information Technology Development Co., Ltd (China Unidata). at the Xianlin campus. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as university-industry collaboration and the development of logistics data technology (digitalisation and intelligentisation).

Tan Tieniu extended a warm welcome to Zhang Jian and his delegation. He gave a brief overview of NJU's development in recent years. He noted that NJU has consistently focused on high-level scientific and technological innovation, establishing outstanding disciplinary strengths in fields such as artificial intelligence, information management, data science and computer science. As the first state-owned enterprise specialising in data technology, China Unidata bears an important mission in areas such as the construction of a national-level logistics big data platform, and shares a high degree of alignment with NJU in terms of academic specialisations and talent development. He emphasised that NJU sincerely looks forward to both the university and the enterprise fully leveraging their respective strengths to engage in practical cooperation, thereby jointly making positive contributions to serving the nation's high-quality development and building a modern logistics system.

Zhang Jian expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he had received at NJU and outlined the background to the establishment and general development of China Unidata. He noted that, as an alumnus of NJU, he had always taken a keen interest in his alma mater's development. NJU's research capabilities and talent pool in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, data technology and new engineering disciplines align closely with the development needs of China Unidata. He looked forward to strengthening cooperation between the two parties in areas such as talent development, scientific research and innovation, and the data industry, with a view to jointly driving the digital transformation and upgrading of the logistics sector.
