Recently, Yu Fanying, Chairperson of the Yu Jizhong Education Foundation and Executive Director of the Huaying Culture and Education Foundation, visited Nanjing University. She attend the the inauguration ceremony and first meeting of the 7th Board of Trustees of Nanjing University, where she was appointed Honorary Chair of the 7th Board of Trustees. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences met with Yu Fanying and her delegation.

Tan Zhemin expressed his gratitude to Ms Yu Fanying on her appointment as Honorary Chair of the University's Seventh Board of Governors. Tan Zhemin stated that he sincerely looked forward to the new Board continuing to support NJU in achieving leapfrog development, constantly expanding its network of partners, and working together to enhance the University's reputation. Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU accompanied the meeting.

On 23 May, Yu Fanying and her delegation visited NJU Suzhou Campus. During the exchange session with trustees at the Inaugural Meeting of the Seventh Board of Trustees of NJU, Yu Fanying spoke highly of the university's achievements and progress in its development. She expressed her intention to further pool the resources of the Board of Trustees with the philanthropic efforts of the Yu Jizhong Educational Foundation, to remain committed to NJU, and to support the university's talent development, disciplinary development, and the cross-strait cultural exchanges.

During the visit, Ms Yu Fanying and her delegation visited Nanjing University Press, the Academy of Environmental Planning and Design, and the School of Atmospheric Sciences, and held discussions with representatives of humanities scholars from our university, with a view to further deepening the all-round cooperation between the Foundation and the university and jointly promoting cross-strait cultural and educational exchanges.

The delegation led by Yu Fanying also visited the special exhibition  at the university museum and the special exhibition on Mr Yu Jizhong at the university history museum, where they gained a deeper appreciation of Nanjing University's century-long educational heritage and its founding mission of nurturing talent, whilst reflecting on Mr Yu Jizhong's dedication to education and his sense of national responsibility and commitment to fostering cross-strait understanding.
