On May 27, Hu Guoyun, Party Secretary of Kunming University, led a delegation to visit Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received Hu Guoyun and his delegation at the Xianlin Campus. The two sides held in-depth discussions on continuously deepening cooperation and jointly advancing high-quality development.

On behalf of NJU, Tan Tieniu welcomed the arrival of Hu Guoyun and his delegation and introduced the history and development of NJU. He noted that, over the years, NJU and Kunming University have engaged in reciprocal efforts, supporting one another and forging a series of pragmatic collaborations, which have established a solid foundation for cooperation. Tan Tieniu emphasized that the two universities share the mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the nation. He expressed the hope that both sides would further leverage their strengths, deepen and expand their cooperation, and work hand in hand in areas such as strengthening the sense of community of the Chinese nation, ecological environmental protection, and international exchanges and collaboration. He anticipated that such efforts would lead to even greater and more fruitful achievements, making new and greater contributions to serving the strategic needs of the country.
On behalf of Kunming University, Hu Guoyun extended heartfelt gratitude to Nanjing University for its care and support. He remarked that Nanjing University has a long history and is home to numerous eminent scholars. He eagerly looked forward to in-depth exchanges between the two institutions to share educational experiences and create a new chapter in high-quality development. Hu Guoyun pointed out that Kunming University is committed to serving the nation's major strategic needs and regional economic and social development, contributing to Yunnan Province's efforts in building a demonstration zone for ethnic unity and progress, a pioneer in ecological civilization, and a regional hub targeting South and Southeast Asia. He expressed hope to strengthen cooperation with NJU in areas such as teaching and research, discipline development, the inheritance of red cultural resources, and opening up initiatives, jointly promoting the development of both universities to new levels.
Representatives from both sides held a discussion and exchanged views on specific matters of cooperation, focusing on topics such as discipline development, talent team building, talent cultivation, cadre training, and exchanges.

On the same day, Hu Guoyun and his delegation visited the Nanjing University History Museum.
Kunming University Vice President Li Kai, Nanjing University leaders Li Bin and Sun Leqiang, as well as the heads of relevant departments and colleges from both universities, attended the meeting.
