On January 6, Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, chaired two consultation meetings to solicit opinions for the 2025 democratic life meeting. He met with representatives from various administrative departments, the School of Marxism, the School of Physics, and the School of Intelligent Science and Technology to discuss high-quality organization of the 2025 democratic life meeting, listening to the opinions and suggestions of the faculty and staff directly.

The attending faculty and staff carefully compared their views and proposed suggestions for the leadership team, engaging in deep discussions on topics such as strategic planning, optimized resource allocation, information technology development, ideological and political course reform and innovation, discipline construction, team building, work style improvement, and livelihood issues.

Tan Tieniu carefully listened to their opinions and expressed heartfelt thanks for their concern and support for the university's development. He pointed out that the constructive suggestions presented addressed key issues hindering the university's development, reflecting their love for the university and expectations for its future, showcasing the intellectual, passionate, capable, and responsible spirit of NJUers. The university will continue to extensively gather, systematically organize, and deeply research the opinions of faculty and staff, adhering to a people-centric approach to enhance their satisfaction and happiness. A regular mechanism will also be established to delve into grassroots levels, widely collecting grassroots opinions to further unify thought and wisdom, providing a platform for faculty and staff to demonstrate their capabilities and contribute.

Tan Tieniu emphasized that democratic life meetings are crucial for advancing the Party's self-revolution. It is essential to organize these meetings by accurately identifying problems and analyzing their causes based on broad solicitation of opinions, thereby effectively promoting the construction of the "Unique Nanjing University." He expressed hope that faculty and staff will continue to care for and support the university's development, further liberating thoughts and breaking habitual thinking, working together to contribute more significantly to the advancement of national strategic scientific and technological strength, and supporting the nation's development and national rejuvenation mission.

Li Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing University Committee, Assistant President, and Director of the General Office, attended the meeting.
