On November 24, Yan Hanping, Deputy Secretary of Yancheng Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Yancheng, led a delegation to Nanjing University for talent recruitment. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Yan Hanping and his delegation on Xianlin Campus.

Tan Tieniu welcomed Yan Hanping and his delegation and expressed gratitude for the long-term support from Yancheng Municipal Party Committee and Government. He pointed out that NJU attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with Yancheng, and both parties have achieved good collaborative results in platform construction, scientific research projects, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation. He emphasized that NJU implements President Xi Jinping's requirement to "serve the country and the people," starting first with serving Jiangsu and supporting Jiangsu's high-quality development. He required NJU's research platforms in Yancheng to further improve quality and efficiency, reform and innovate, making the university's research results compatible with local needs and helping Yancheng develop new quality productive forces. He hopes that both sides would continue to work together, making good use of Yancheng's "blue, green, red, and white" resources to further deepen cooperation in student training, ideological and political education, cadre training, environmental protection industry, marine research and other fields, to build a more influential world-class Nanjing University more quickly.

Yan Hanping briefly reviewed the history of exchanges and cooperation with NJU in his work, and pointed out that Yancheng is at the conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the planning stage of the "15th Five-Year Plan," making the demand for talents more urgent and critical. He stated that in Yancheng's talent recruitment work in recent years, a large number of outstanding graduates have come from NJU each year. Yancheng is a high-quality source of students for NJU and also the site for research platforms such as the NJU Yancheng Environmental Protection Technology and Engineering Research Institute, which has laid a good foundation for Yancheng to recruit talents from NJU. He thanked Tan Tieniu and NJU for their concern and support for Yancheng's development and talent recruitment work, and looked forward to deeper cooperation between the university and the city in more fields and in more ways.

After the meeting, Yan Hanping and his delegation went to the International Conference Center to hold a talent recruitment presentation and job fair. Jiao Ruihua, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council, attended and delivered a speech on behalf of the university.
