On June 21, Nanjing University held the 2025 Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony at the Fang Zhaozhou Gymnasium on Xianlin Campus. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), encouraged graduates to "aim high and forge ahead with courage." Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS, urged graduates to "honor the name of NJU and embrace the call of the times." The ceremony was hosted by Chen Yunsong, Deputy Chair of NJU CPC Council and Director of the General Office.

Around 2 p.m., members of the NJU's National Flag Guard solemnly escorted the Five-starred Red Flag into the venue. The Five-starred Red Flag has a close connection with Nanjing University, having been designed by alumnus Zeng Liansong. This flag once flew high over Tiananmen Square and was specially escorted to NJU for its 110th anniversary in 2012. All attendees paid tribute to the flag and sang the national anthem, marking the official start of the ceremony.

At this farewell moment, Tan Tieniu expressed heartfelt wishes for the graduates, hoping these words would become starlight on their journey, accompanying their growth. He urged them to remember the instructions of President Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee, to keep the nation's priorities in mind, and to grow into outstanding individuals in various fields, contributing significantly to Chinese path to modernization and the national rejuvenation.

Tan Zhemin extended warm congratulations and sincere blessings to all graduates, expressing high respect and gratitude to the teachers, staff, and parents who contributed to their growth. He stated that graduates are "witnesses of historical moments," "inheritors of NJU's spirit," and "pioneers of future journeys." Tan Zhemin has high hopes for the graduates, expecting them to uphold the spirit of NJU and write new chapters in their lives during the new era.

Tan Tieniu presented souvenirs and flags to members of NJU's 27th Graduate Volunteer Teaching Team and the 23rd "Western Plan" volunteers. NJU has long been committed to serving the nation, encouraging more graduates to go to the west, the grassroots, and places where the country needs them most, contributing their youth to the development of the western regions and the prosperity of the nation. This year, 27 NJU students will continue this tradition, heading to the west to contribute their youthful energy to the construction of Chinese path to modernization.

Liu Jingkang, founder of Insta360 and a 2010 alumnus of NJU's Software Institute, shared his journey and experience. He encouraged students to bravely explore and pursue what they love, wishing everyone to find their passion and enjoy the journey, patiently awaiting fruitful results.

Professor Du Lingjie from the School of Physics congratulated graduates on completing their studies. He shared his experience of leading a team to observe graviton excitations for the first time in the world. Du Lingjie hopes that students will transform the excellent character cultivated at their alma mater into a source of strength for pursuing their ideals, facing challenges with resilience, and reaching new heights in the future.

Xia Yiyang, a 2021 undergraduate from the School of Foreign Studies, spoke as a representative of the graduates. She aspires to become a "foreign language + law" interdisciplinary talent, telling China's international legal stories well, and is committed to building a bridge for equal dialogue in international law.

All graduates solemnly pledged to strive for national rejuvenation and human progress for life. After the oath, all teachers and students sang the School song, wishing for a brighter future for Nanjing University.



Subsequently, university leaders, Academicians of the CAS, members of the University Degree Evaluation Committee, college leaders, and College Degree Evaluation Committee members conferred degree certificates and adjusted tassels for bachelor's degree recipients.
