On November 6, Nanjing University held a working luncheon for international faculty representatives. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), attended the luncheon and discussed with foreign teacher representatives from various countries.
Tan highly praised the essential contributions of the international faculty to the University's development. He emphasized that global engagement is a vital pathway for the university to achieve the goal of "building a trully first-class world university." NJU has been promoting the global engagement strategy by implementing a series of innitiatives and plans including the NJU International Fellowship Initiative, the NJU International Engagement Initiative, and the NJU International Collaboration Initiative. All these initiatives aim to strengthen mutual exchanges between Chinese and international faculty, and foster international scientific research cooperation.
Tan stated that the University would take further steps to support international faculty and students, and ensure they enjoy their stay at NJU. He also expected that international faculty and students would act as ambassadors of cultural and academic exchange, establishing stronger connections between NJU and the global academiic community.
International faculty actively participated in the discussion, offering valuable insights on enhancing NJU's global reputation, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, and creating a more dynamic academic environment.
