On October 28, Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a delegation to the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College (CAMS & PUMC). Wang Chen, President of CAMS and Vice President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Deng Haihua, Chair of the CAMS CPC Committee and Vice President of CAMS attended meeting.
During the meeting, Tan Tieniu pointed out that the cooperation between NJU and CAMS & PUMC can be traced back to over a century ago. The two institutions share the common mission and responsibility of advacing national scientific and technological progress, and have a solid foundation for future cooperation. He expected the two sides would establish a long-term cooperation mechanism to make greater contributions to medical education and research.
Wang Chen, on behalf of CAMS, warmly welcomed Tan and the delegation. He briefly introduced the CAMS, and pointed out that the interdisciplinary nature of medicine requires the the collaboration between medical researchers and experters from various fields. As NJU is a comprehensive research university, he believed that the deepening cooperation between CAMS and NJU would greatly benefit both institutions and lead to significant achievements.
Deng Haihua stated that CAMS and NJU have a deep historical connection. Building on this foundation, the two institutions can further expand areas of cooperation, innovate collaborative methods, and achieve mutual benefit.
Zheng Hairong, Vice President of NJU, and Academician of CAS, shared the vision for future collaboration between the two institutions.
