On November 5, 2024, the Conference on Cultivating Top Innovative Talents and the Forum on High-Quality Collaboration between Universities and High Schools were held at Nanjing University Xianlin Campus. The event aimed to further explore new ways to nurture top innovative talents in the new era and strengthen the close connection between higher education and basic education.
Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the event. In his speech, Tan expressed gratitude to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Education Examination Authority, key high schools, and other universities for their long-term support of Nanjing University. He highlighted the university’s efforts to lead in talent cultivation and education reform, hoping to accelerate the construction of a strong educational nation and contribute to China's modernization.
The forum featured the official launch of the "Zero-Year Program," a deep collaboration between Nanjing University and key high schools nationwide, where representatives symbolically initiated the new phase of the partnership. 79 key high schools nationwide joied the program.
Keynote reports were delivered by educational leaders, covering topics such as high school-university collaboration and innovative talent cultivation practices.
In the afternoon, attendees split into groups for further discussions on enhancing collaboration between higher and basic education.
