On the morning of September 30, Nanjing University held a flag-raising ceremony across its four campuses—Xianlin, Gulou, Pukou, and Suzhou—in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Council, and Academician of the CAS, attended the ceremony at the Xianlin campus and delivered a speech. Tan Zhemin, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS, presided over the event.
In his speech, Tan Tieniu reflected on the 75 years of remarkable progress made by the Chinese Communist Party, leading the country to rapid economic development and long-term social stability. He emphasized NJU's strong connection with the nation and highlighted NJU alumni's dedication and patriotism. Tan encouraged the new generation of NJU students to seize the opportunities of the new era, and strive to contribute to the country’s development and rejuvenation.
Tan Zhemin, in his remarks, extended his best wishes for the prosperity and peace of the nation. He called on the entire Nanjing University community to continue striving for national progress, urging everyone to fulfill their responsibilities as part of the great cause of building a modern country.
University leaders and representatives from various departments, faculties, and student bodies, participated in the ceremony.
