On October 16, Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a delegation to the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd. (CECEP) for research and discussions. Liao Jiasheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CECEP, attended and presided over the meeting.

On behalf of NJU, Tan Tieniu expressed his gratitude to CECEP for its warm reception. He pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation, and the "15th Five-Year Plan" clearly outlines the significant task of "promoting the deep integration of scientific and industrial innovation." He emphasized that NJU, with its rich historical heritage and a pragmatic and modest academic culture, has made unique contributions to the development of national higher education and science. With a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation between the university and CECEP, Tan looked forward to taking this exchange as a new starting point to further promote collaboration in areas such as building joint transformation platforms, undertaking joint scientific research challenges, sharing intellectual resources, collaboratively cultivating and attracting talent, and expanding overseas business efforts. He extended a sincere invitation for a CECEP delegation to visit Nanjing University for further exchanges, to jointly explore the establishment of regular communication channels, refine cooperation plans, strengthen collaboration mechanisms, and ensure the effective implementation of mature projects.

Liao Jiasheng welcomed the NJU delegation and introduced the primary business layout of CECEP. He stated that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the Group is steadfast in practicing Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, consistently serving the national "dual carbon" goals and the construction of a Beautiful China. CECEP adheres to its strategic positioning as a leader in the energy conservation and environmental protection industry, a model for green and low-carbon development, and a promoter of the Beautiful China initiative. Liao praised NJU for its rich academic atmosphere, robust research capabilities, and outstanding achievements in education. He noted how the Group has maintained a good university-enterprise relationship with NJU over the years and expressed hope that the two sides could take this meeting as an opportunity to deepen their collaboration in scientific research, technological innovation, and the transformation of achievements, thereby realizing true win-win development.

During the meeting, Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, introduced the solid results that NJU and CECEP have achieved so far in scientific research and talent cultivation. He also provided an overview of how the university’s resources in education, science, and talent could serve as focal points and leverage for future cooperation. The representatives from both parties then conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on specific collaboration matters.

On the morning of the same day, the Nanjing University delegation visited the CECEP exhibition hall to learn about the Group's development history and achievements.

CECEP's Chief Economist Zheng Zhaohui, Board Secretary Zhao Youmin, heads of relevant departments and subsidiaries, and representatives of relevant departments and schools of NJU participated in the meeting.
