From August 17 to 19, Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Shuangbai County in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, to conduct field research on targeted assistance work. Liu Hongjian, Deputy Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Kunming Municipal Party Committee; Yuan Fang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Governor of the People's Government of Yunnan Province; Li Bingze, Director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education; and Zhang Zijian, Secretary of the Chuxiong Prefectural Party Committee, met with Tan Tieniu separately for work discussions. Other attendees included Li Guanghong, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education; Hu Guoyun, Party Secretary of Kunming University; Wei Xin, Deputy Governor of Chuxiong Prefecture; and Shi Wenwu, Party Secretary of Shuangbai County.

Forum on NJU's Targeted Assistance Work at Shuangbai County
On the afternoon of August18, the Forum on NJU's Targeted Assistance Work at Shuangbai County was held at the Shuangbai County Government Office. Tan Tieniu first expressed his gratitude to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Chuxiong Prefecture, and Shuangbai County for their trust and long-standing support for NJU. He emphasized that with the leadership of the Shuangbai County Party Committee and Government, the entire county has worked as one, remaining pragmatic and diligent in driving new achievements in economic and social development, thus striving to write a new chapter of high-quality development in Shuangbai. Tan Tieniu highlighted that NJU will continue to bear its political responsibility, focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of assistance, fully support the development of Shuangbai, and proposed requirements for the next stage of the university's targeted assistance work.

Li Guanghong expressed gratitude for NJU's strong support for Shuangbai and highly praised the university's achievements in areas such as educational quality improvement, technological empowerment, and industrial development. He hoped that both parties would continue to deepen their collaboration and transform the university's intellectual resources into tangible drivers for local development. Wei Xin noted the significant improvements brought on by Nanjing University's sustained assistance over the years and called for further school-local cooperation to boost Shuangbai's high-quality economic and social development. Shi Wenwu reviewed the university's contributions in education, industry, and technology and expressed hope for deeper collaboration between the university and the county to jointly draw a new blueprint for high-quality development. Other leaders such as Hu Guoyun, Luo Xiangjun, and Zhong Qijian also shared their views at the meeting.
During the symposium, Tan Tieniu presented the admission letter to Xu Sujunyun, a recent graduate from Shuangbai No. 1 High School who has been admitted to NJU. Meanwhile, a ceremony was held to formalize a donation of targeted assistance funds and the signing of a procurement agreement for agricultural products.

NJU's Logistics Services Group signed an agricultural product procurement agreement with Shuangbai County.
During the research trip, Tan Tieniu and his team conducted field inspections of various projects, including mushroom greenhouses, blueberry farms, floral industry bases, Chinese ginseng fruit industries, and Harmonious Village construction sites. They also visited the cultural center's ancient book restoration project, a "Grand Beauty of Chinese Characters" exhibition, and the "Heading South: AI-Empowered Education Assistance" initiative. Additionally, they visited local farmers and met with university staff holding temporary leadership positions in the region and student volunteers involved in teaching support.









Accompanying the visit were Liu Miao, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of NJU; Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC NJU and Vice President of NJU; and other responsible officials from related departments of the university. Also present were officials from the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Chuxiong Prefecture, Kunming University, Jiangsu Province Hai'an High School, Jiangsu Province Shuyang High School, and Nanjing Jinling Primary School.
