On June 3, Ms. Bian Haiyan, Founder and Vice Chairman of Baofeng Group Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation, visited Nanjing University with her delegation to attend the 2025 Nanjing University Yanbao Scholarship Award Ceremony and Symposium. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Ms. Bian and her delegation at the Xianlin Campus.
On behalf of Nanjing University, Tan Tieniu extended a warm welcome to Ms. Bian and her group, expressing gratitude for the kindness and generosity of Baofeng Group Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation. Currently, the university is earnestly implementing President Xi Jinping's important instructions and guidance, accelerating the construction of a uniquely Chinese, world-class "Unique Nanjing University" under the "Forging Ahead" initiative. Tan Tieniu also introduced the university's new development layout of "One University, Two Cities, and Four Campuses", emphasizing that the university has closely aligned its recent vigorous development in new engineering disciplines with Baofeng Group's industrial focus in AI-enabled industrial upgrades and new energy. He expressed that NJU looks forward to leveraging its strengths in talent, intelligence, and artificial intelligence to promote school-enterprise collaboration with Baofeng Group for mutual benefit and development.
Ms. Bian Haiyan introduced the founding intention and naming rationale of Baofeng Group Yanbao Charity Foundation. Acknowledging NJU's rich history and distinctive disciplinary strength, Ms. Bian expressed hope for deeper collaboration between the two parties to jointly contribute to talent cultivation and scientific research innovation.
In the afternoon, during the Nanjing University Yanbao Scholarship Award Ceremony was held. In his speech, Suo Wenbin, Member of the Standing Committee of NJU CPC Committee and Vice President of NJU, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations and profound sentiments of Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation. He stated that NJU would honor its trust by building the Yanbao Scholarship into a high-quality brand that inspires growth, conveys warmth, and unites strength. He expressed a desire to take this donation as a starting point for deepening collaboration with Yanbao Foundation to cultivate more talent for national educational progress and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The award ceremony was hosted by Feng Fan, Director of Nanjing University Alumni Affairs and Development Office. Li Hao, Head of the Student Affairs Department of the NJU CPC Committee, announced the award decisions. Ms. Bian Haiyan and Suo Wenbin presented certificates to the student representatives who received the awards.
During the visit, Ms. Bian and her delegation also had cordial exchanges with award-winning students from Ningxia and Gansu at NJU. At the symposium, student representatives shared their growth and achievements during their time at the university with representatives of the Yanbao Charity Foundation. They expressed gratitude for the foundation's care and encouragement, describing the positive impact of the scholarships and financial aid on their academic pursuits and life planning.
