Multilingual versions of "Eternal Starlight: Wisdom of Chinese Sages" available for streaming

In March 2026, as part of a series of events organised by Nanjing University to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Kuang Yaming's birth, the short video series "Eternal Starlight: Wisdom of Chinese Sages" was officially launched. Jointly conceived and produced by Nanjing University and the Communication University of China, the project is based on the classic academic work Collection of Critical Biographies of Chinese Thinkers and incorporates AIGC technology. Through vivid audiovisual storytelling, it presents the wisdom of Chinese thinkers such as Confucius, Mencius and Mozi to the general public in a lively and accessible manner, breathing new life into millennia-old philosophical thought.

Since its release, "Eternal Starlight: Wisdom of Chinese Sages" has accumulated over 10 million views on domestic platforms, not only demonstrating the enduring vitality of China’s fine traditional culture in the present day, but also providing valuable insights for the creation and dissemination of similar works in the future. The project also won the Second Prize for Excellence in the Knowledge Category of the Short Video Section at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival, reflecting the industry’s dual recognition of both its content and form.

The video series has now been translated into several languages, and will be broadcast on various platforms, enabling Eastern wisdom to reach a wider audience and travel further, thereby contributing to the international dissemination of fine traditional Chinese  culture.
