Speaker:
Renjun Duan is currently a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He earned his PhD in Mathematics from the City University of Hong Kong in 2008. After graduation, he conducted postdoctoral research for two years at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), part of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In 2010, he joined CUHK, where he has been working ever since. His research focuses on the analysis of partial differential equations (PDEs), with a particular emphasis on the Boltzmann equation in kinetic theory and its connections to fluid dynamic equations.
