On September 21 Nanjing University President Prof. Chen Jun had a meeting with the visiting President Seiichi Matsuo of Nagoya University, and discussed how to deepen the exchange and cooperation between the two universities.
President Chen Jun looked back upon the thirty-year cooperation between Nanjing University and Nagoya University, especially those distinguished cooperation results achieved in the fields of geology, climate and environmental change, economics, sociology and chemistry. He also briefed the guests on Nanjing University’s major measures and plans concerning undergraduate teaching reforms, disciplinary construction and international cooperation and exchange.
President Seiichi Matsuo talked about the “Matsuo Plan” to be implemented, which aims to advance teaching reforms, improve academic research capabilities, accelerate internationalization, and promote the integration of production, teaching and research.
The two sides also had an in-depth discussion on international course construction.
Nanjing University Vice President Zou Yajun and representatives of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Department of Japanese, and Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges also attended the meeting.
