On the eve of May 4th Youth Day, the results of the 29th China Youth May Fourth Medal were announced. NJU professor Du Lingjie and alumnus Zheng Li were honored with this award.
Du Lingjie, graduated from the Kuang Yaming Honors School, is now a professor at the School of Physics, Nanjing University. His research interests include extreme conditions transport and optics of novel quantum states in triple-five semiconductors. The results of his research were selected as "China's Top 10 Scientific Advances" in 2024 and "China's Top 10 Science and Technology Advancement News" in 2024. He was awarded the honors of "Outstanding Worker" by Nanjing University in 2024, "China's Top Ten Emerging Science and Technology People" in 2024, "Outstanding Young Science and Technology Worker" by Jiangsu Refrigeration Society in 2024, and "Outstanding Contribution to Youth Science and Technology Award" by Digital Economics Society of Jiangsu Province in 2024. He is also actively involved in social services, serving as the secretary-general of the Specialized Committee on Basic Sciences of the Chinese Association of Young Scientists and Technologists, and the Vice-president of the European and American Alumni Association of Nanjing University.

Zheng Li, studied at the Kuang Yaming Honors School, Nanjing University and UCLA in United States. He is a researcher of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zheng Li has long been engaged in research on high-end silicon-based materials and device integration. He has received a series of provincial and national awards for his research achievement.

The China Youth May Fourth Medal is the highest honor awarded by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Youth Federation to outstanding young people in China, aiming to set up a typical example of outstanding young people who are politically progressive, of high moral character and have made outstanding contributions, and to centrally reflect the spiritual character and values of contemporary youth. Since the first selection in 1997, this award has dedicated to encourage the young generation to forge ahead and devote themselves to the nation's social development by commending some good youth examples.
